Getting Ready for October...

Looking around the web today to get ready for October. I can't believe it is almost here and my baby is almost 1. Seriously? Where did this year go? There are so many fun ideas to get you feeling festive as the holidays approach.

Bat chandelier by Heartland Paper.

Seriously cute!  from Tiny Prints

Dress up your pumpkin like a witch by using a flag; this idea is from Home Decor Trends.

Bake up these treats from Bakerella.

Whip up these for some Corny fun!  Free pattern by Material Whirled.

Scary Spider Wreath!  Directions found here.

Handmade sign by SusanWyno

And lastly I LoVe this porch.  And sadly I'll never have it because I am NOT painting my door orange!  But if I did I would need the black feathered wreath.  Cute, happy, but totally halloween!
What are you planning on doing to halloween-up your house?

Made it Mondays!

This week for Made it Mondays I am showing off a few very special birth announcements I have made for my little niece Sophia.  You can click on the pictures to see a larger version.  I would love it if you would leave me a comment to let me know which one you like best; her mother is having a hard time choosing.

Let's see what you have made recently!

1.  Enter the link to the post you are showing off; not the home-page of your blog.
2. You must have a link back to Made it Mondays on your post somewhere so people can continue viewing everybody's creations.  You may also include the Made it Mondays logo (optional)
3.  Follow rule 1 and 2 or your link will be deleted.  You can always try again if you notice your link is missing from the party.

Let's get this PARTY started...

What's Better than a Playhouse?

For our little one's first birthday we are making her a playhouse.  Yes it is over the top.  No she can't stand yet.  But hopefully come spring she will be able to play with her cousins in her little house outside.   We have a few month still before her birthday so I thought I would start researching ideas.  Here we go...

Princess Playhouse by Instructables.

Click here to see the inside; A...mazing!

This is a little wacky...but still could be cute.  We don't have a meadow though...well not yet.

The details are what make this one so cute!

Talk about imagination gone wild!  Any kid would LOVE this...maybe not our neighbors though.

My only request of the finished product is to have a working doorbell.  The Remington Man thinks I have lost my mind.  For me I want our backyard to be cool since we will be in our house awhile.  I want out kids to stay here to play rather than head down the street.  It must be my protective Mama side coming out; but these days you never know what is actually going on next door or down the street.

Sophia Kate

As some of you may know I am a photographer that specializes in newborns; and my latest client has me wrapped around her finger.  My newest niece Sophia Kate.

Tales from the Scale

I can't believe it is Friday already!  I am just .2 shy of 1 pound this week.  Which is okay because I reached a huge milestone of being able to wear (notice I didn't say squeeze) my normal pre-pregnancy jeans yesterday!  I dug out my fall clothes in hopes that some of it may fit.  Yeah!  It was worth the effort of climbing up in the attic.  I know I am moving in the downward direction so I am still hopeful; who knows I might be able to fit into the jeans I wore on our honeymoon by our anniversary!

Nature Inspired Decorations and Crafts

Fall is here!
And I am so excited it is my very favorite time of the year.
Here are some fun ideas to get you in the mood.

Family Fun for when the electricity goes out...

Yesterday afternoon our lights went out due to a thunderstorm coming through our area.  So I thought I would post some things you can do with the family when the lights go out.

     Letter Writing

Coloring by candlelight for little ones.

Pull out your old board games like Candyland and Checkers.

Roast smores in the fireplace.

Hide in Seek with flashlights.

Read Books or have one adult read out loud to the whole group.

What do you do with your family when the lights go out?

Made it Mondays

Time to show off something that you have MADE!
This week I am showing off an old lamp that I had laying around.  The base was originally this awful color of green and it had a plain jane shade.  I decide it would work well in my daughter's room so I dressed it up  a bit.  With some help from a hot glue gun I added some sparkle to the shade.

Then sprayed the base a lovely shade of pink.

Much better.

Mosaic Monday

Savvy at 10 months! I haven't had time to do anything with these pictures so I thought I would include them in Mosaic Monday over at Little Red House today. Go over and check out the other mosaics.

Fun with Scraps

Love these! Scrap Fabric Necklaces.  Check them out here.

Fabric scrap wreath from Craft Gossip.

Zipper Creatures from Scraps by Bebe's Boutique.

I never would have thought of this; but it does make sense.
The circles are soft cotton old clothes that she turned into
hankies for blowing your nose.  Put them next to a child
bedside and the bucket holds the used ones.
The idea is from Fun in the Making.

Introducing my Newest Niece!

Sophia Kate is still figuring out life at one day old.
I can't wait to see her little personality develop.
We are amazed by all of her hair.  Big Sis had to wait
two years to have this much hair!
 So Cute!

Yeah!!! 1/3 of the way there!

Yeah!  Another 1.6 down this week.  According the World Wide Web I am 26 lbs away from a healthy weight for my height.  In the last two months I have lost 13 lbs. so by my calculations I am 1/3 of the way there!

I think I am more excited by the fact that I was able to squeeze into my "fat" jeans; I have never been more excited to put on "fat" jeans in my life and I have been wearing them proudly every day this week.  (I have washed them)

I have given away most of the jeans that don't fit; for me it was just too depressing to have them laying around.  I wish I would have thought of taking this photo though; it is a great picture of the struggle.

Like what you saw? Have a suggestion? Let me know.  I love comments!

Rainy Day Fun!

Where I live it has been raining it seems for weeks.  The ground is so wet it quit soaking up the rain days ago.  So in light of the rain I am posting some fun games to play In The Rain...

Make some origami boats to float in the puddles.

Raincoats + Chalk= Lots of fun!  Picture from Our Unexpected Journey.
They realized chalk works better in the rain!

Squidoo.com suggested putting food coloring in a big puddle and add a few squirts of dish soap then blow with a long tube and you should see a bubble explosion!

And if all else fails there is always puddle jumping! Check out the rest of her cute outfit here.

All Things Baby!!!

Today is a very big day for us.  We are getting our new niece this afternoon.  My sister went into the hospital this morning to be induced and I can't wait to hold our newest little one. So in honor of the big day I am posting All things Baby!
