This is one the best pasta dishes I have had in years and one that you MUST try.
4 Quarts of Water, 1 1/2 tablespoons of salt, 16 oz penne pasta, 1/3 cup heavy cream, 1 cup Pesto, and freshly grated Parmesan Cheese.
First you make the pasta according to the directions. Reserve 2 Tbs of your pasta water when you drain your pasta.
To make your sauce combine the pesto, 2 Tbs pasta water, and cream and mix well. Add this to your pasta and toss well.
We added some sliced grilled chicken breast and topped with the fresh Parmesan Cheese.
This is better than any dish at any restaurant hands down. I plan on planting lots of basil this year in our garden so I can make and freeze pesto to use year round. This is a 5 star dish!
